That was the last story. With a heavy heart, she stacked it neatly and closed her pitter patter box. As she walked to the backyard, the dark clouds were looming above. Two drops fell simultaneously into her hand. One rolled down her eye and another came down from the sky.
As if saying goodbye to her, the clouds rained one more time. The last rain of the season.
She stood there soaking in as much of it as she could. Not wanting to let go off that last embrace of the rain. That is when she was reminded of the story of the pied crested cuckoo. The bird waited for the rains and only drank the rain water that fell down from the sky. It was considered as the harbinger of the monsoon. She felt like that cuckoo bird.
The rain slowly moved away to other parts of the world. It will now witness many new stories. It will continue its journey, narrating the stories to those who can hear the voice of the rain drops.
Hope you have enjoyed reading the rain stories as much as we enjoyed bringing it to you.
