Dear God

Run Baby Run

She loved her job and she was good at it. She worked for a travel company and had travelled all over the world to write articles and shoot videos. When she was asked about her first trip and her memories about it, she always talked about the journey she made with her family across countries as a child refugee.

As a part of her travel show, when she visited the country she was born in, she felt a little strange.

She was in the middle of planning her trip to Antarctica when her best friend told her about an available air ticket to the mountains in Tibet. She wanted to take a vacation before her long trip to the south pole and so she decided to take that trip.

She made it a point not to carry her camera when she went on vacation. Else it would seem like work.

From the moment she landed at the Lhasa Airport in Tibet and hitch hiked through the holy land of Tibet in the lap of the Himalayas, she felt a sense of peace. She felt she was going towards something extraordinary.

The trek, the view, everything had an unknown but pleasant affect on her. She had never felt so happy and charged. There was a sense of joy from deep within. She would sit at a place for hours with tears pouring out of her eyes and soaking her jacket.  “Am I in a trance?” She would wonder.

On her last day there, she went to the nearest mountain to sit there and soak in some more of the place and the feeling. A part of her did not want to go away. As a wanderer, she had never stayed in a place for too long and had never actually felt at home anywhere. But this place was different. She did not want to go anywhere else. This place felt like that Home which could keep her. Keep her forever.

She did not see it coming. Her eyes were closed and her mind was at peace when that large cloudburst occurred. Her colleagues and friends could never get over her.

It was only her best friend who received a “Thank You” note from her after the incident in which everyone considered her to be “dead”.
