He first noticed those tiny creatures when his ball had rolled to that corner of the backyard.The family had just moved in to the new house and he was still exploring the place. Observing those tiny creatures and clicking their pictures became his hobby. Interestingly, they appeared every year after the rains. They came in huge numbers, built colonies, collected food, reproduced and lived there for an year. During monsoon the entire colony would get washed away in the rain without leaving any trace of their existence.

This cycle repeated year after year. He had tried his best to save them during rains by covering the corner with a sheet etc. Nothing seemed to work. They just disappeared after the first rain only to surface again once the rains stopped. 

Today, when he had come home after losing everything in his business, there was no other place that he wanted to be. Sitting in the corner of the backyard, he kept looking at those tiny creatures rebuilding their homes and recreating their existence.

They did not fear the rain. They lived till the next rain.
