It is very rarely that two photographs by the same photographer is selected for the final round of a world photography contest. It would be a huge boost to his career if he won the contest since the other contestants were already world renowned photographers.

He really hoped that he won the contest for the photograph of a rainbow that was shot at very unique angle. It had given him great joy shooting it. The colors looked outstanding. It was a fulfilling experience. He had felt a complete sense of satisfaction about his work .

When the results were declared, his name was announced as the winner. He stood up with tears in his eyes because the entry that won the contest was the photograph which was taken while he was caught inside a tornado. It was just a coincidence that he had his camera in his hand when that unfortunate incident occurred. He had lost everything other than his camera in that event. When his agency developed that photograph to be sent for the contest, he did not even want to have a look at it.

Now, when he walked towards the stage to receive the award, he looked at the photo projected on the screen angrily. As he walked towards it, the rage slowly got converted into a feeling of acceptance as he heard his mother’s voice in his head telling, when things happen , the best way to deal with it is by accepting it.

He received a great deal of accolades and appreciation for that photograph. But he still knew deep within that he would have chosen otherwise.
