life, self discovery / Poem

That Flyway

It was beautiful;
It had everything one could ask for;
It was made with glass, stones and wood;
It had all appliances in place;
It was indeed a dream house.

She moved in on a fine day
She got all her possessions along;
Soon, her life took new turns and twists
She had barely settled in there

He was very handsome;
He was every teenager’s heartthrob;
He was smart, intelligent and pleasant;
He had all plans in place;
He was indeed a dream man.

She had barely settled in;
She couldn’t remember when it all began;
She did not feel at-home anymore;
They were not compatible anymore.

Things are not always as they seem to be;
That dream house could never become her home;
That dream man could never become her true love;

She had to let go off both of them;
She knew she had to move on.
She never looked back with guilt;
She never thought “what if I had stayed on!”;

She soon found her new home;
She soon found her true love;
She soon found a place where she belonged;
She soon found a place which belonged to her.

Some houses are like that;
It cannot keep people.
Some people are like that;
They cannot keep their loved ones.

They are meant to be that way;
‘That Flyway’ which you pass when you are on a journey.

Very true, but it can be difficult to move on when everything appears perfect and everyone assumes your life is ideal. 🙂
