Deciduous And Evergreen- Trees & People.

I love this season of Fall (Autumn) . The colors around fill my heart with joy. Yellows, oranges, reds and browns in all possible shades. Each tree and each leaf adding to the beauty around in the best possible way. I could take a thousand pictures of these beauties around.

I know they will all shed in a few weeks. They will then stand there, bare, waiting for the spring. To bear the winter, they have to bare it all. Even when I admire the colors of these deciduous trees, I always look around for the evergreen trees. They do look dull in this season but then, I know they will be around all year long. They do not change colors, shed their leaves all at once, or look so drastically different in each season. But I know they are always there.

I stay connected with all the friends I have made over the years. In all those friends’ groups, there are people who make their presence felt occasionally by cracking jokes, bringing up interesting and debatable topics, posting funny pictures and making sure every member in the group participates in those discussions etc. They are the noise makers at a party and they are the ones who can dance till the end of the party. But then, every once in a while, they just disappear. The group might even feel a little dull when they are not around.

Then, there are friends in the groups who are always present. They may not be good at cracking jokes or dancing with you. But, you know you can ping them anytime and they will respond immediately. They will always send you early morning wishes, and no matter how busy they are , they will come over and check to make sure everyone is alright. You know you can count on them, no matter what.

The same holds good for family as well. There are those who entertain us with their stories and songs and drama. Then, there are also these who cannot crack jokes, but are always around.

Why do the deciduous trees do what they do and why do evergreen trees remain the way they are? We all know that it is their characteristic. We do not expect them to be anything else, or behave differently.

It feels as though the deciduous trees try to make up for the lost time of not being around, by filling us with joy while they are around. They cannot stay for long because then, it is not them. They cannot stay the same forever because they are not made to stay forever. We all like them despite everything.

Friends and family who are like these deciduous trees do exactly the same. They go an extra mile to bring joy while they are around and then disappear, because that is how they are. Friends and family who are like the evergreen trees, will always be there, because that is their characteristic. We love them for who they are.

I am thankful for both types of trees in my neighborhood. Each of them teach me to value the other. I am thankful for both types of people in my life. I understand and appreciate all of them.
