Seekers – Inward Journey Series

Namaste!

We are all seekers. We seek one thing after the other. At this time and age, (of this timeless universe) there are apparently more seekers of the”ultimate reality” than it has been in a very long time. That is a very positive sign from the universe and probably one that says that we are slowly heading towards the next step in evolution. People becoming fully aware of their true potential can be the stepping stone towards the next era on earth. That need not necessarily mean the existence of only good and no evil. There could be people/beings using this power for good or bad. We will all probably find out more about it in our future incarnations.

Imagine a garden with flowering plants handpicked from around the world. How wonderful would that garden look! Now imagine you are a bee that gets to roam around in that garden. You, as a bee, could still have your favorite flowers to drink nectar from; but you could taste each of those flowers and smell the heavenly scent of each of them before picking your favorites. That would be bliss, isn’t it!

I stumbled upon one such garden a couple of months ago and I have been going from one flower to another and enjoying my time in that garden. Like a good fellow-bee, I thought it is my responsibility to let more bees know about such a garden.

The garden that I am talking about is virtually located at www.batgap.com. Batgap stands for Buddha At The GAs Pump. It is a series of interviews of “ordinary” spiritually awakening people conducted by Rick Archer. Rick conducts one interview every week and the guest and time is announced on the website in advance for those who want to watch the interview live streaming, and ask questions to the guest. Since most of these interviews happen over Skype, they continue to happen even under these circumstances.

Buddha at the Gas Pump’s creator Rick Archer , is a long time spiritual practitioner. At 17 it “dawned” on him there was such a thing as enlightenment and then realized it was life’s ultimate goal. After another year of exploring drugs, Rick saw the futility of that approach and found and learned Transcendental Meditation. He then taught it for another 25 years.

While he is no longer affiliated with any particular spiritual organization, Rick has meditated regularly now for more than 45 years. He says he’s good at routines. Rick was inspired to create Buddha at the Gas Pump, as the site of his popular collection of interviews about “Ordinary” Spiritually Awakening People because he says he’s good at asking questions.

As friends encouraged him to “think big,” Rick moved on to the internet with batgap.com. It now archives over 500 free interviews telling powerful personal stories ranging from near-death to full enlightenment. Rick sees himself as a connector and a collector, a catalyst for more awakenings.

Dr. Pat’s guest profile from the website www.drpatshow.com

The “ordinary” spiritually awakened people include writers, spiritual practitioners, doctors, scientists and men and women from various walks of life. Like most of them say, this is an era of awakening. There is an epidemic of spiritual awakening. On this land where many extra ordinary souls walked, we will find more extra ordinarily ordinary souls walk. There are live examples that genuine profound transformations could happen to anyone who is a seeker for it (Some who identified themselves as seekers and others who came into this life with unfinished tasks from previous ones) . People in small villages in Europe to those in small towns in the lap of the Himalayas, this experience connects all of them.

For some of them, the process of awakening was a gradual one and some of them lost if completely when they realized they are much more than what they perceived themselves to be. Some of them had “profound” experiences as children giving them an indication of the mystery and magic that lay ahead of them. It is a wonderful mix of people from different background, culturally, religiously and geographically.

These interviews usually are about the person’s personal journey and about the knowledge they gained from their respective personal journeys. It’s very interesting to listen to the different personal journeys varying from near death experiences, to an unknown person appearing in their dream guiding them, to the sense of self just disappearing; all leading to the same realization of non duality. Hearing it straight out of the horse’s mouth is a magical.

The implication of the title – Buddha at the Gas Pump – is that ordinary people are experiencing higher states of consciousness once thought to be rare and difficult to attain. People everywhere are undergoing a shift or awakening to their true nature. For some, this shift has been abrupt and dramatic. For others, it has been so gradual that they may not have realized it has occurred. Such shifts, or awakenings, are not new: Christ spoke of the Kingdom of Heaven within, Buddhists speak of Nirvana, Zen masters of Satori, Hindus of Moksha, but these traditions generally regard these states as rare and difficult to attain. Many people are therefore skeptical of claims of higher states of consciousness. They find it hard to believe that apparently ordinary friends and neighbors might be experiencing something extraordinary. Maybe they expect Enlightenment to look as remarkable on the outside as it is reputed to be on the inside. This show will attempt to dispel skepticism and misconceptions by week after week, allowing otherwise ordinary people to relate their experience of spiritual awakening.

Many great souls have walked this land. People have followed their path and those who have understood the essence of their teachings, without the distortions that happened along the way, have led a life of contentment. For others, the search continues.

This is not a paid partnership post. This is just a gesture of gratitude to those who are working towards building a handpicked garden for everyone else to benefit from. This is a gesture of gratitude from one seeker to another. Or, should I say, from one bee to another.
