Reason To Celebrate
“Be the celebrators, celebrate! Already there is too much—the flowers have bloomed, the birds are singing, the sun is there in the sky—celebrate it! You are breathing and you are alive and you have consciousness, celebrate it!”
” Life is too short to not celebrate nice moments”
” The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate”
There are so many such beautiful quotes which talk about celebrating life every single day. We all agree to it but unfortunately get so caught up with our day to day activities that we hardly have time to even notice a celebration worthy moment. We forget to celebrate a good day. We take for granted all the good things that happened to us.
Every time I read such a quote, I sit down, relax and celebrate the moment. But it never became a day to day affair. While thinking of ways to make it a tradition, this is the best I could come up with: If we can think of atleast one reason each day, be grateful for it and celebrate it, I think it would be a great start.
Since the day I decided to do this, it has been a wonderful feeling. The reason to celebrate would range from a checked todo list to a nice chat with a good friend to a small accomplishment by kids at school to staying away from social media. And the way to celebrate also would vary from eating at our favorite restaurant to watching a movie together to not following the strict sleep time (for kids) to a big family hug.
Today, I am celebrating having 100 followers on wordpress. It feels really good. I am celebrating it by cooking one my favorite entrée’s at home and by sharing the news through this blog.
If I had to honestly describe my journey so fay, I would divide it into two stages:
The first stage was that of discovery. I used to constantly talk to myself about the topics that I could write about. I would Write it and proof read it a 100 times before I gathered the confidence to hit the Publish button. Most of the views I got were through my social media contacts and each comment was like an award. The initial followers were people whom I knew personally.
The second stage (which I am currently in) started when I gathered the confidence to promote my blog. Reading and commenting on different blogs, taking my blog links to various blog parties etc was a new experience. I found so many like minded fellow blogger in the process. By commenting on the posts that I genuinely appreciated I could gain attention towards my blog. Each new follower boosts confidence. Slowly and steadily the number of followers increase, expanding your small virtual world.
As I wind up my day after the celebration, my heart is filled with gratitude, stomach is happy with yummy food and mind is filled with more ideas to research and write about.
Looking forward to tomorrow’s reason to celebrate.

You are so right to find a reason to celebrate and be thankful each day. Well done on gaining 100 followers. 🙂
Thank you.
Thank you for this reminder to celebrate. I often let moments slip through my fingers. Where I live, there are 3 inch and five inch little cakes sold in local markets. I often think of buying one little cake to celebrate “a fun day” or “a nice sunset.” Maybe now I’ll actually do it.
That would be wonderful. A nice little cake and coffee with a beautiful sunset.
Very nice Deepa….
Congratulations!!!
Thank You Sandhya.
